Commitment to its employees has long been a core focus for First State Bank, and they are honored to have been recognized by the National Association for Business Resources (NABR) as one of the Best and Brightest Companies to Work for in 2019.

As a Hometown Bank, First State Bank recognizes that its team makes the difference and seeks the brightest and most motivated employees to deliver the outstanding and friendly service the Bank is known for. First State Bank prides itself on taking care of its employees – offering opportunities to further excel in their profession, education or personal goals.

First State Bank is a strong philanthropic partner in its communities, and emphasizes the donation of time, as well as financial resources. First State Bank employees are encouraged to be active in the community and are given paid time to volunteer with local charitable organizations. The Bank provides many other perks for its employees. First State Bank employees also have the opportunity to take classes through Dale Carnegie, fully paid for by the Bank. Additionally, First State Bank is proud to offer its 401(k) plan which is being recognized by PlanSponsor as one of the top plans for its size within the United States.

“The well-being of our employees is one of our core values because we know that we are a stronger and more successful team when we prioritize each member of our team,” explained Gene Lovell, President and CEO, First State Bank. “We are proud to receive this recognition because investing in our team is a priority and we are focused on cultivating a work place where each person can find opportunities for growth and fun, while knowing they are making an impact at delivering superior customer-focused service.”

Winning companies were assessed by an independent research firm which reviewed a number of key measures relative to other nationally recognized winners. “With the war on talent hitting the door steps of the Best and Brightest, this achievement means even more than it did a year ago. As we continue to raise the bar, these companies rise to the challenge through cultural innovation, maximizing their workforce potential,” said Jennifer Kluge, President and CEO, Best and Brightest Programs.
